Advocare 24 Day Challenge: Day 1 morning edition

Decided to give this a try. I've done the Body by Vi 90 day challenge a couple times now and have failed misserably after a few days each time. With the Advocare 24 day challenge, I feel I will be better able to complete it due to one very important thing: it's not as calorie restrictive as the ViSalus challenge. As active as I am, I can't do less than 2200 calories a day. It just doesn't work. I end up sleeping all the time and no amount of caffeine or Neuro will keep me awake.

So I'm only about half way through day one of the Advocare challenge and I can say I'm already feeling a difference. The Spark I started my day with left me with a little bit of a stomach ache that went away once I ate my breakfast. I think it was due to how sweet the Spark is and the fact that I was starving. I usually eat within an hour of getting up, but due to poor planning on my part it was almost 2 hours after I woke that I actually ate solid food.

For breakfast, I made pancakes using a recipe my friend, and Advocare distributor, Lindsay (her blog can be found here) posted on Facebook. I made some changes to the original but over all I feel they were a success. I may have to incorporate them into my diet more often. Also, I ate all six that I made and I'm still full almost 2 hours later. I don't think I'll eat all of them next time I make them. I'll freeze the leftovers.

Now I need to figure out what I want as a snack and what I want to make for lunch. I'm thinking I may just heat up leftovers from last night for lunch. Also I need to figure out dinner...

Advocare 24 Day Challenge Pancakes

2 eggs (use whole or just the whites, up to you)
1 smashed banana (the riper the easier it is to smash)
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 pouch vanilla flavor meal replacement (I used 2 scoops ViShake)
1 pouch Fiber Drink (this can be omitted, but it adds a nice nutty flavor)
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp cinnamon
Water as necessary

Beat eggs until frothy. Add banana and beat until smooth. Use a blender if necessary to mix ingredients. In a small bowl mix dry ingredients then mix into wet. Add water to achieve appropriate consistency.

Cook individual pancakes in pan over medium heat in oil of your choice. I recommend olive oil or coconut oil. Watch the pan and add more oil as needed. These pancakes are like little sponges and will absorb the oil. Due to the high sugar content of these, they will be a bit darker than traditional pancakes.
