Yet Another New Workout

The other day, my Women's Health workout DVD arrived. I was so excited. I have been waiting on this DVD for about a month now. I wanted it because of the stretching workout that was included. It was said to be the best 10 minute stretch of my life. And well after the first time, I can say yes it is an amazing stretch. At first look, you may not think it's a workout as much as a shit ton of crunches; the opposite of stretch. But when you really look at the movements, you are stretching and working every core muscle front to back. If you could talk to my abs, you would first hear about how amazing it feels (my abdominals front to back get so hot after this 10 minute workout you can feel the heat radiating from my stomach) then how badly it hurts. After two days straight of doing this stretch, my stomach is visible smaller and it hurts to move, but also feels amazing at the same time.

Today I did the cardio workout included on the DVD. It's a full 60 minutes of high intensity never stopping cardio. I knew going in it was going to be along workout, but I was surprised at how fast it went by. It's one of the few workouts I've done recently that didn't leave me unable to walk afterward due to the impact on my knees. The moves are so varied and are moves my body remembers from the athlete years, that it doesn't hurt. The problem I have is the fact that because these movements are ones that I did for years and are associated with sports I've played, I have to keep the movements slower and really controlled or I run the risk of seriously injuring myself. Never mind the fact that I'm faster than the DVD. This workout is going to replace my normal Turbo Jam "Cardio Party," as I'm feeling more worked head to toe than with the Turbo Jam. I'll still do the "Turbo Sculpt" as that has really started to show in my arms.

Today's weight : 183 lbs
Lost two inches on my waist and 1/2 inch on my chest. Now to just get my hips to start losing...
